                                                        SISTERHOOD

Bais Torah has an active Sisterhood that offers women an opportunity to enjoy each others' company, gain new skills, and raise funds for the shul. Our events include a membership tea, weekly Zumba classes, book club, kallah/ graduation/ bat mitzvah tea, and sponsiring the Simchat Torah kiddush.  Also, Sisterhood organizes the Shul's annual fundraiser, creating and distributing Shaloch Manot baskets for all of our members and friends.

Ta’amtations Cookbook Only our best recipes were good enough to include in Bais Torah’s own cookbook, which is filled with easy, tempting treats.

Here's our recipe of the month, a quick no-fail salad that will add color and zip to milchig or fleishig meals. Courtesy of Emily Lifschitz:
Beet Salad
6 potatoes

1 carrot
1 small onion or 2 to 3 scallions
Salt
Sugar
3 beets
2 to 3 pickles, diced
Vinegar or lemon juice
Oil

Directions: Boil potatoes, beets and carrot. Remove carrot and potatoes when done and let beets cook another hour or so. Remove beets; cool. Peel and dice. Add diced pickles and onion. Add salt, sugar and oil to taste. Mix well and refrigerate.

For more quick and easy recipes, order a copy of Ta'amtations using our website's contact form. Cookbooks are $18 each, payable to Congregation Bais Torah Sisterhood.
